ACRYLIC SHEETS

Comglasco Aguila Glass’ acrylic sheets are a lightweight, clear alternative to glass with superior clarity. Made using a high-tech process, a monomer is placed in a glass mold to create a 50% lighter sheet with 93% transparency. They offer resistance to salt, air, chemical sprays, and impact. Acrylic sheets are thermoplastic and come in dimensions of 4 x 6 ft and 4 x 8 ft, colors of clear, red, yellow, blue, green, white, black, and brown, and thicknesses ranging from 1.5mm to 25mm. They come in two types: cast and extruded. Cast acrylic is made through polymerization, while extruded acrylic is made by pushing an acrylic mass through a specially designed form.

TYPES OF ACRYLIC:

CAST – Cast acrylic is manufactured through a process called polymerization. Methyl Methacrylate monomer (MMA) liquid is pumped into a mold made of two sheets of glass. The mold is put in warm water, polymerization occurs, and a high-tech sheet of rigid acrylic is produced.

EXTRUDED – Extruded acrylic is manufactured by pushing an acrylic mass through a specially designed form. Extruded acrylic sheets are more adaptable to thickness.
